About

I’m an educator, communicator, and writer. I have felt most inspired working on projects that help all people, but especially young people, do things that feed their sense of hope. It is easy to be cynical, to think that the actions we take don’t matter all that much  To think otherwise, we are so often told, is not only naive but also irrational..

My interests lie in civic engagement, mental health, and the role of technology and focus in the development of young people. I have worked as a program manager at a non-profit, as a construction-site translator and supervisor, as a class teacher at a science museum, as a wildland firefighter among other things.

I look forward to continuing work that focuses on mental health, community building, and activism.

In my free time I play my guitar and sing, hike, and bike around. I like language exchanges and having conversations, and am always on the lookout for dogs I can pet while I ignore their owners..
